I am Dr. Amjad Hussain, an Assistant Professor of Zoology at the University of Ladakh with over seven years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration. I hold a Ph.D. in Zoology, and my academic journey has been driven by a passion for advancing biological sciences, mentoring students, and contributing to higher education. My research interests focus on biodiversity conservation, wildlife ecology, herpetology, and the ecology of the Trans-Himalayan region, particularly the unique fauna of Ladakh. I have published research papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented my work at national and international conferences. My research aims to contribute to the understanding and conservation of fragile mountain ecosystems through scientific investigation and interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition to teaching and research, I have coordinated and organized several national workshops, orientation programmes, faculty development programmes, conferences, and outreach activities. I have also been actively involved in mobilizing research and institutional funding from various national agencies and organizations to strengthen academic and research initiatives. I am committed to promoting quality education, scientific research, and environmental sustainability. My goal is to inspire students, contribute to biodiversity conservation, and advance knowledge through meaningful research and academic leadership.
