The event invites students and research scholars from schools, colleges, universities, and research institutes, as well as startups, incubation centers/hubs, to showcase their innovations, inventions, business ideas, and product prototypes to a broad audience. Winners in each category will receive rewards of ₹20,000/- for the best entry and ₹ 10,000/- for the second best. Additionally, the top innovator, institute, startup, or incubation center will get seed funding of ₹50,000/-, support for patent publication, incubation assistance, and skill development training.

“Cutting-Edge Scientific Instruments and Training on XRD, ICP-MS, BET & Multichannel Electrochemical Workstation”

The Workshop is aimed at providing information on the principles, instrumentation, and applications of advanced research equipments. The workshop includes lectures, live demonstrations, and sessions on Cutting-Edge Scientific Instruments and training on XRD, ICP-MS, Multichannel electrochemical workstation and BET equipment for researchers, scholars and students from different disciplines. The training sessions will be conducted by experts possessing extensive experience in the operation and handling of these sophisticated instruments. Participants will acquire both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in utilizing this equipment. Furthermore, attendees of the workshop will be awarded certificates upon successful completion of the practical training sessions.

The program also examines how environmental activists and their interventions conserved parks, energy, water and land in the face of climate variability based on a gender perspective. Under the motivation and support of Prof. S. K. Mehta, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Department of Geology, Leh campus Taru Thang is organizing International Earth Science Olympiad – IESO-2023 at Leh Campus of the University at Taruthang. International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) is as one of the major activities of the International Geoscience Education Organization (IGEO). It is an annual competition for secondary school students. The main aims of the IESO are to encourage student’s interest and public awareness of Earth Science and to enhance Earth Sciences learning and to enhance Earth Science teaching/learning at school level. The Geological Society of India is the body responsible for selecting the Indian Team for the International Earth Science Olympiad. The IESO is supported by the Ministry of Earth Science (MoES), Government of India as one of its outreach programmes for promotion of Earth Science. In this context all the 196 registered students from various schools of the city are informed that their admit cards has been sent to their respective principles/teachers of the schools and on registered e-mail of the students. The examination would be held on 10th June, 2023 (Saturday) sharply at 10:30AM at University of Ladakh, Leh Campus, Taruthang near Gurudwara Pather Sahib. All the students are advised to reach the examination centre with their admit cards and adhaar cards by 10:00AM. After the examination the students can visit the various labs in the departments of the campus. The Geological Society of India has been organising the national Earth Science Olympiad and the Indian team has been participating the International event from the year 2007. The main purpose of the IESO is to create awareness about the origin of the universe, evolution of the Earth and life and to encourage students and public to take interest in Earth Sciences, and also to promote friendly relations between young students from different countries and international cooperation in the exchange of ideas and materials on Earth Sciences and their teachings. The IESO is a four-stage procedure: 1. National Level Entrance Test (ET), 2.
