The department of Physical Education started its functioning in March 2021 with the introduction of Doctor of Philosophy Programme in Physical Education and in March 2022 the department introduce Bachelor of Physical Education course.

The department also focused on Physical activity and sports which is vital to the holistic development of young people, fostering their physical, social and emotional health. The department organized different sport events which has the power to provide a universal framework for learning values, thus contributing to the development of skills needed for responsible citizenship.

The department strives to inculcate appropriate values and qualities required to develop sports persons and physical education professionals at various levels.  The Department of Physical Education & Sports is established with the following objectives:

1. To conduct various Sports and Physical activities for the students.

2. To conduct research on various aspects of physical education and sports.

3. To conduct professional teacher training programme in the field of physical education and sports

Regular intramural sports activities are conducted in the campus to inculcate healthy life style and competitive spirit among the students. Gym has been set up with the latest and sophisticated machinery pertaining to cardio and weight-training to keep the society fit. Students are required to carry out minor research projects from 1st semester to 3rd semester and in the 4th-semester students have to complete the master dissertation. Our classrooms are equipped with the latest state-of-the-art interactive panel board and good heating arrangement for the winter.
