Dr. Hadi Ali
Assistant ProfessorAcademic Biography
Dr. Hadi Ali is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry with a strong academic and research background in catalysis, green chemistry, and sustainable chemical processes. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry with research focused on the development of non-noble metal heterogeneous catalysts for the conversion of biomass-derived compounds into value-added chemicals and fuels. His doctoral work involved the design and characterization of nickel-based catalysts supported on mono- and mixed-metal oxides, with applications in hydrodeoxygenation of lignin-derived phenolics and catalytic upgrading of renewable feedstocks. His expertise encompasses catalyst synthesis, surface characterization, reaction engineering, and biomass valorization. As a dedicated educator, Dr. Ali has been actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate chemistry courses, mentoring students, and designing curriculum. He has taught a broad range of subjects, including organic chemistry, Inorganic chemistry, environmental chemistry and green chemistry. He is committed to promoting inquiry-based learning and developing students analytical, experimental, and problem-solving skills through innovative teaching methodologies. Dr. Ali's research interests lie at the interface of catalysis, renewable energy, environmental remediation, and sustainable materials. His work includes the synthesis and characterization of heterogeneous catalysts, photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants, biomass conversion, and the development of eco-friendly catalytic processes. He has extensive experience with advanced analytical and characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), in-situ DRIFTS, physisorption, and chemisorption techniques. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Ali has authored research articles in reputed peer-reviewed journals and has actively contributed as a reviewer for international scientific publications. He has participated in academic committees, curriculum development, and professional bodies, reflecting his commitment to advancing higher education and research. Driven by a passion for scientific innovation and quality education, Dr. Ali continues to pursue interdisciplinary research that addresses global challenges in sustainable chemistry while mentoring the next generation of chemists and researchers. His long-term goal is to develop environmentally benign technologies that contribute to clean energy, waste valorization, and industrial sustainability.
