Dr. Mohd Hassan
Assistant ProfessorAcademic Biography
I am Dr. Mohd Hassan, currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, University of Ladakh, Kargil Campus, where I also serve as the Coordinator of the Department of Mathematics. I earned my Ph.D. in Mathematics from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, with my doctoral research titled "Some Contributions to Variational Inequalities and Optimization Problems." My teaching experience includes undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Abstract Algebra, Topology, Differential Geometry, Numerical Methods, Linear Programming, and Optimization Techniques. Alongside teaching, I am actively involved in curriculum development, student mentoring, and academic administration. I have also contributed to the development of interdisciplinary academic programmes and have participated in various academic and outreach initiatives of the University. My research interests lie in nonlinear optimization, variational inequalities, multiobjective optimization, semidefinite programming, non-smooth optimization, and mathematical programs with equilibrium and vanishing constraints. I have published more than ten research papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals, and my work has received over 58 citations. My research primarily focuses on optimality conditions, duality theory, and generalized convexity using convexificator techniques. In addition to my teaching and research activities, I have served as a member of the Board of Studies and have organized and coordinated several academic workshops, conferences, and outreach programmes. I remain committed to advancing mathematical research, promoting quality education, and contributing to the academic growth of the University of Ladakh through teaching, research, and institutional service.
