I am Dr. Zarina Bano, and I specialize in Urdu language and literature. I hold a Ph.D. in Urdu, and my doctoral research explored “Ikkisvi Sadi Mein Urdu Tanqeed” (Urdu Criticism in the Twenty-First Century). I also completed my M.Phil. in Urdu with a dissertation on “Abdul Ghani Sheikh ki Adbi Khidmat.” I qualified the UGC-NET JRF in 2019, which laid a strong foundation for my academic and research career. Since then, I have been actively involved in research, with my work published in peer-reviewed journals. I have also presented research papers at national and international seminars, where I have had the opportunity to engage with scholars and contribute to academic discussions.
Research focus
My research interests include Urdu literary criticism, modern Urdu literature, literary theory, and contemporary developments in Urdu studies. I am particularly interested in examining changing critical perspectives and contributing to meaningful discussions on Urdu literature through research and academic writing.
