University of Ladakh (UoL) in collaboration with Eliezer Joldan Memorial (EJM) College, Leh organised an Inter-College Cultural fest at EJM College, Leh today. Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh Professor SK Mehta was the chief guest of the event and Commissioner/Secretary, Higher Education Department Padma Angmo was present as the Guest of Honour. Dean Students Welfare, UoL Dr. Jigmat Dachen and faculty of the participating colleges were also present. Students at the University of Ladakh, EJM College, Leh, Government Degree College, Khaltse and Central Institiute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS) Choglamsar presented a range of cultural performances before the audience and panelists Mipam Otsal, renowned theater artist and Dorjey Stakmo, popular Ladakhi musician. Commissioner/Secretary Padma Angmo, while addressing the event, commended the enthusiasm of the students and stated that along with academics, extra-curricular activities are vital for the overall development of the students. Further, she highlighted that with the implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP), skill-based model of learning shall be stressed upon, with focus on academics, vocational learning and extra-curricular activities equally.
