• 17th July 2023: The University of Ladakh, today begins a Two-Day Workshop on “Entrepreneurship and Skill Development with Special Reference to Startups” in its Leh campus. On the first day, 70 graduate and post-graduate students from Industrial Training Institute Leh, EJM College, and the University of Ladakh participated in the workshop. The objective of the workshop is to inculcate entrepreneurial spirit among the participants, motivate them to become successful entrepreneurs and hone entrepreneurial skills among aspiring entrepreneurs. On the first day, Prof. SK Mehta, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Ladakh and Prof. Indranil Manna, President Indian National Academy of Engineering, Delhi were the chief guests apart from officials from INAE and the University of Ladakh. On the first day, successful entrepreneurs and startups from Ladakh spoke at length about how to start successful startups in the region like Ladakh, the essential prerequisites to becoming successful entrepreneurs, and how to identify the gap between the latent needs of the customer and the current market offerings. While appreciating the University of Ladakh for the initiative, Prof. Indranil Manna, President Indian National Academy of Engineering lauded the efforts of the University in promoting entrepreneurial spirits among youths and expressed the intent to expand the mutual cooperation in the near future. It is pertinent to mention here that the workshop is financially supported by the Indian National Academy of Engineering, New Delhi under its SERB Programme.
