The Center for Himalayan and Trans-Himalayan Studies and the Department of Political Science, University of Ladakh, organized a special talk by Dr. Homayun Taba and Dr. Marguerite Theophil. Dr. Taba and Dr. Theophil both come from academic backgrounds of Economics and Psychology. Later their doctoral works were in the discipline of Philosophy with a focus on human consciousness transformation. They worked as corporate consultants for over 30 years. Realizing the need for HR intervention in educational institutions, they began conducting workshops on skill development, collaborative approaches and creative imagination in schools and colleges. They both have also been writing columns for national newspapers. Dr. Taba and Dr. Theophil have been coming to Ladakh for the last 11 years, and have worked in nunneries, private and public schools here with both teachers and students. To foster the love of reading, they have also helped set up, supported and nurtured several libraries in different parts of Ladakh. They have contributed in the academic growth of University of Ladakh. They have donated more than 600 books to our library on various themes ranging from religion, to economics, politics, history, and so on. The event ended with the concluding remarks by Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. S .K. Mehta and vote of thanks by Dr. Sonam Joldan, Dean Research, University of Ladakh.
