Lecture on the ‘Shaping the Future: Strategic Interest of India and G-20 Leadership’ In a momentous collaboration under the esteemed banner of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,' the Department of Political Science at Kargil Campus, University of Ladakh, orchestrated a captivating lecture on September 23, 2023. This event, marking India’s G-20 Presidentship, delved into the Global Leadership of the G-20 and India’s leadership and representation in the forum. The event owed its success to the unwavering support and guidance of its honourable patrons: Ms. Kaneez Fatima, the revered Rector of Kargil Campus, and the venerable Vice-Chancellor, S. K. Mehta, of the University of Ladakh. Their patronage ensured the seamless execution of the program, setting the stage for a memorable and insightful gathering. A distinguished assembly of faculty members, students, and inquisitive minds congregated to engage in significant discussions. This gathering was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Mohd. Taqi, the coordinator of the Department of Political Science and the Dean of Arts at the University of Ladakh, lending an air of prestige to the proceedings. The Special Lecture was delivered by Dr. Firdous Ahmad Malik, Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of People, Pasadena California, enlightening the audience about the role of the G-20 in financial regulation and global financial stability, ensuring representation from both developed and developing states. He also highlighted the expanding scope and subject of the G-20, including areas like inclusive growth, sustainable development, climate change and digital economy. Dr. Malik also explored the challenges, such as the divide between developed and developing states within the G-20 forum, and how it affects the effective functioning of the G-20. The speaker lauded the significant role of India in the success of the G-20 and India's role in global decision-making. The event was impeccably organized by Ms. Nasereen and commenced with a warm welcome speech by Ms. Nusrat. Dr. Mehdi faculty of Department gave brief introduction of the speaker and Dr. Muzammil and Dr. G. Murtaza faculty of Political Science moderated the discussions.
