Press Note/Release Two Days Workshop On National Educational Policy 2020 Date of Event: 26 – 27th September, 2023. Venue: Lecture Hall, Education Department, UoL. Two days workshop on National Education Policy 2020 concluded at University of Ladakh, which was being organized by Department of Education, University of Ladakh, Leh Campus. The workshop started with the inaugural session presided over by Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Sonam Jolden, giving inaugural address; he put detailed light on the main features of NEP 2020. The workshop began with the warm welcome of the resource persons Prof. J. N. Baliya (Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu) and Dr. Seema thappa (Department of Teacher Education, Nagaland University, Kohima) with the traditional Khataks and Mementos. The welcome speech was given by Prof. Deskyong Namgyal, Controller Examination, University of Ladakh who welcomed the eminent professors and extended his sincere gratitude to each one for taking time out of their busy schedule to participate in this programme of engagement with the students and faculty members. The programme was attended by faculty members from various colleges, Faculty members from University, Research scholars and students. Prof. J. N. Baliya highlighted the translating Outcome Based Education (OBE) in Higher Education as per NEP 2020 Guidelines. He told that, the Outcome Based education is an educational approach that focuses on defining desired learning outcomes for students and designing the educational process to achieve that outcome. Dr. Seema Thappa emphasized on Introduction to Indian Knowledge system (IKS) in TL Practices as per NEP 2020.She said, IKS is a collective range of Indian Knowledge that has exhibited in systematized ways of knowing. Participation certificates were distributed among participants. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Dr. Ashu Rajput, Assistant Professor, Department of Education. The objectives of the workshop were to bring together educators, policymakers, administrators, and other stakeholders to explore the different aspects of the NEP-2020, its implications and potential avenues for its successful implementation.
