Student Exchange Program: Day-1- Acclimatization and Cultural Familiarization walk to Taru Village, Leh

Press Note/Release Date of Event: 02-10-2023 Venue of Event: Taru Village, Leh, Ladakh Student Exchange Program: Day-1- Acclimatization and Cultural Familiarization walk to Taru Village, Leh Department of Travel and Tourism Management (DTTM), University of Ladakh is hosting students and faculty members from School of Vocational Studies, Ambedkar University Delhi under Student Exchange Program. It is an eight days residential program which involves an acclimatization walk, cultural familiarization, exposure to tourism products and resources of Ladakh, Speakers talk on tourism and final day will include presentations from the students. On 02-10-2023, it was Day-1 of the student exchange program escorted by Mr. Jigmet Spaldan and Mr. Padma Thinless. The duo had a power point presentation to guest members. Then they took the student and on tracking, to Taru Village and explained about flora & fauna, old & new houses and culture & religion. The student explored the old houses, kitchen, Taru water stream, knowledge about irrigation, monastery, type of stupa, Matho, occupation of the villagers and followed by experience sharing. The group was also accompanied by Mr.Roshan, Mr. Mubarak and coordinator of DTTM, UoL. We are thankful to our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. S. K. Mehta, University of Ladakh for his vision and the path of opportunities he lays down for students and faculty members of University of Ladakh.
