PRESS RELEASE Report On One Day Perspective Talk On “Medical Microrobotics for Healthcare Engineering” 23rd October, 2023: One day perspective talk on “Medical Microrobotics for Healthcare Engineering” was organized by Department of Forensic Science, University of Ladakh under the esteemed guidance of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prf. SK Mehta, University of Ladakh on 23-10-2023 at Leh Campus. To start the program Dr. Stanzin Angmo (A.P, Dept. of Forensic Science) welcomed the guest and the audience followed by felicitation of the Speaker, Dr. Sarvesh Kumar Srivastava, Asst. Prof. & Group leader, Centre for Biomedical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi by Dr. Jigmet Dechen, Dean Student Welfare, University of Ladakh with a momento and a traditional khatags. Then the speaker started the presentation by introducing himself followed by explaining in brief the concept of microbiome including the compositional and functional features in relation to human health and effect. The talk further highlighted significance of microbiome and its movement. The bacterial species found in various parts of the GI tract, as well as their particular metabolic characteristics was also discussed in detail. The Speaker in the next part of the talked about the microbiome engineering focusing on the potential of microrobots for biomedical applications such as to track progress, assess degrees of motion, and check a patient's form while they complete exercises. Service robots generally assist healthcare personnel by doing regular logistical chores and delivering a report after the activity is accomplished. In the last section the speaker highlighted different sampling techniques that are applied in early diagnosis and therapeutic interventions. Then the session was opened for question and answer. Finally, the session ended by vote of thanks presented by Dr. Qutsia Tabasum, Coordinator, Department of Forensic Science, University of Ladakh where she conveyed gratitude to Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dean of Different Schools, Incharge Administration, Coordinators, Faculties, students and non-teaching staff for their valuable time.
