“Exploring Psychological Distress Among Youth of Ladakh

Press Note The Centre for Himalayan and Trans-Himalayan Studies and the Department of Political Science organized an interactive session on “Exploring Psychological Distress Among Youth of Ladakh”, today on 26/10/2023. Dr. Samina Batool, (MD Neuropsychiatry and De-addiction Specialist), Dr. Sajad Hussain (Ph.D Clinical Psychologist) and Mr. Dawa Tsering from Tele-MANAS were the guests. Dr Samina talked about various kinds of mental illness and emphasized that mental illness should not be associated with insanity. Dr Sajad gave first hand tips to deal with stress. Both the speakers introduced Tele-MANAS to the faculty and students and encouraged them to share their psychological and emotional concerns on the tollfree number. Dr. Sonam Joldan, Dean Academic Affairs welcomed the guests.
