Press-Release Special Talk on “Mitigating Global Warming “Strategies to Combat Climate Change” Resource Person: Prof. S.K. Kansal (FRSC, FIE), Dr. S.S Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Punjab University, Chandigarh. On 26/07/2024 a special talk on Mitigating Global Warming “Strategies to Combat Climate Change” was organized by Department of Environmental Science and Biodiversity Research Center University of Ladakh, Kargil Campus under the leadership of worthy Rector Madam Kaneez Fatima. The expert for the talk was prof. S.K. Kansal (FRSC, FIE) Dr. S.S Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Punjab University, Chandigarh. The program started with the welcome speech and introduction to climate change by Dr. Mohd Salim, Co-coordinator, Department of Environmental Science. Then after Dr Mehboob Ali Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science welcomed the guest with traditional Ladakhi Khatag. Prof. S.K. Kansal started his lecture with motivational talk related to research and innovation. Prof. Kansal elaborated a comprehensive overview of climate change, its causes, impacts, and potential solutions, encouraging active engagement and further exploration of the topic. He emphasized on specific topic as Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), Net Zero Carbon Emission, Carbon Credit and differentiated the concept of climate change and global warming. He also provided various valuable suggestions on how to combat the challenges related to climate change in particular to Ladakh. The presentation was followed by an engaging Question and Answer session, where participants, including faculty and students of the University of Ladakh, actively interacted with Prof. S.K. Kansal. At the end of the session, Dr. Jaffer Ali Khan, Senior Assistant Professor, presented a token of appreciation to Prof. S.K. Kansal. The session was culminated by, Dr. Sonam Angmo, Assistant.
