Inter-Departmental Basketball Tournament Concludes at the University of Ladakh, Leh Campus.

The Inter-Departmental Basketball Tournament, organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports, University of Ladakh, Leh campus concluded today on 23-09-2024 with thrilling final matches in both the men's and women's categories. In the men's final, the B.P.Ed. team triumphed over the combined team representing the Department of Tourism, Political Sciences, and B.P.E.S., while in the women's category, the Department of Physical Education secured victory by defeating the Department of Mathematics. The final matches attracted a large crowd of enthusiastic faculty members and students, who gathered to cheer on the teams. The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof. S.K. Mehta, graced the event as the Chief Guest and distributed prizes to the winning and runner-up teams. Ms. Stanzin Chondol and Mr. Stanzin Stobdan, both from the Department of Physical Education, were named the best female and male players of the tournament, respectively. In his speech, Prof. S K Mehta congratulated the winning teams and encouraged students to actively participate in sports and physical activities. He emphasized that the University of Ladakh is committed to supporting talented athletes and will continue to provide incentives for students who excel in sports. Dr. Jigmat Dachen, Dean, Students' Welfare, expressed his gratitude to all participants for making the tournament a success. He also urged students to maintain active participation in future events. The tournament was coordinated by Mr. Lobzang Kunkyab, PTI, Mr. Sonam Gyatso, Assistant Professor, and Dr. Waseem Raja, Assistant Professor from the Department of Physical Education and Sports, Leh Campus.
