Three-Day Inter-Department Cricket Tournament Concludes at Leh Campus, University of Ladakh

The three-day Inter-Department Cricket Tournament at Leh Campus, University of Ladakh, concluded today, 19th October 2024. A total of 11 teams from various departments participated in the event, which was organized in a knockout format. In the Men's final, the Department of Physical Education triumphed over the Staff Team with a close victory by two wickets. In the Women's final, the Zoology Department delivered a dominating performance, securing an 8-wicket win over the Department of Physical Education to claim the title. Mr. Anwar Hussain from the Staff Team was named the Best Men's Player, while Ms. Parveena from the Zoology Department was awarded the title of Best Women's Player of the tournament. The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by Dr. Jigmat Dachen, Incharge Administration, Leh Campus, University of Ladakh, who presented trophies and prizes to the winning and runner-up teams. Dr. Dachen praised the participants for their talent and dedication, congratulating the winning teams on their impressive performances. In his address, Dr. Dachen expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof. S.K. Mehta, for his unwavering support of student-centric activities and his encouragement to host such events on campus. The tournament was organized by the Department of Physical Education & Sports, Leh Campus, with the active support of the members of the Students' Union of Leh Campus. The event not only provided a platform for students and staff to showcase their sporting skills but also fostered a sense of unity and teamwork among the participants.
