Kaneez Fatima is the Rector of Kargil campus, University of Ladakh. She is the first female graduate of Kargil District qualified at that time when people were aversive of female Education. She has done one-year diploma course in educational leadership programs in Dehli. She has worked in the Ministry of Education, Govt of India, New Dehli, on different superior National level posts and has a record of apparent and best services in the field of Education in various capacities at District, State and Regional level posts also. She has served in the Education department,jammu &kashmir as Tehsil Education officer,kargil,chief Education officer kargil. Ms Fatima rendered her services in central Govt departments for many years in many capacities such as, principal jawahar Navodaya vidyalaya, Kargil, Asst.commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, NVS,Ministry of Education, Govt of India, New Dehli, Deputy Director in National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS),Govt of India, New Dehli, Director Academics in J&K Board of School Education,and Joint Commissioner, NVS,Ministry of Education,Govt of India, New Delhi.

Ms Kaneez Fatima possesses varied experience in Educational Administration. I,e Academic management, Framing Educational policies and planning, Administrative, Personal &Establishment matters, organisational methods and planning, curriculum and syllabus framing, Scheme of studies, designing, developing and publication of text books, planning for Academic Exellence and supervision and monitoring of quality in Educational institutes, conduct of training programs for teachers, establishment of open school system and incorporation of Gender concerns in Education and public policy and social welfare programs in,the Region, State and central Govt departments across the country.Ms kaneez fatima has made valuable contributions for the cause of Education and uplifting of Women Education as a leading social activist.

Ms kaneez fatima is the recipient of STATE AWARD by the Govt of J&k,for SOCIAL REFORM AND EMPOWERMENT in the year 2007,for contribution as a leading activist and social reformer in the cause of Women Education in kargil. She has also received several Awards of Deppt of Education in public recognition of her valuable services rendered for the cause of Women Education and her research papers on educational status of ladakh are acknowledged in international level organizations on ladakh studies.

MS kaneez Fatima has participated in many international Conferences and Seminars held in different countries . She presented her research papers on different titles relating to Educational and socio economic status of women and Social issues in the history of ladakh in Oxford University,UK, in 2002. Arhus University, Denmark, in 1998.LA spenza University in Italy,2004, Cultural Academy ,Ministry of culture in Iran,in 2006.and has garnered appreciations and recognitions by the international scholars and participants of the conference/ seminars

She represented as a team leader of Indian delegation from Ministry of Education, Govt of India, New Dehli, in an international educational exchange programme and visited schools of UK in 2011, under “UKIERI “Program (UK-India Education Research and Initiative) launched by Ministry of Education, Govt of India and British council UK. She was also one of the member of Indian delegation of educationists who visited China in 2013 in an educational exchange programme launched by Ministry of Education, Govt of India, New Dehli and Ministry of Education Council, Govt of China. She has also participated in many national level programs/ conferences on Education, Gender and social issues, literacy and educational management programs.

She is the author of many articles/papers written and presented in international conferences on Education and socio economic status in Ladakh appeared in the books entitled (Recent Research on Ladakh) published by universities of different countries and organizations i:e International Association of Ladakh Studies and cultural Academy of Lakh region.

She remained associated with many social welfare programs for upliftment of women Education and socio economic status with state and central organizations. She is also honorary member of International Association for Ladakh Studies, and University Council of the University of Ladakh and Chairperson of Center for Social Development and policy Research kargil, Ladakh.
