The closing ceremony of the World Heritage Week organized by the Archaeological Survey of India, Mini Circle Leh in collaboration with the Archives, Archaeology and Museums Department, Leh which was commenced on 19th November 2022 and concluded at the iconic Leh Palace today on 25th November 2022 in the presence of Chief Guest, Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof S K Mehta, University of Ladakh. The students of Travel and Tourism Department and the French Certificate students participated this weeklong enriching event on the final day. Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. S K Mehta encouraged the younger generation to conserve and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Ladakh. He expressed that the exquisite wall paintings, thangka paintings (religious scroll paintings), manuscripts, and other ritual objects of monasteries that manifest Ladakh’s unique cultural heritage should be digitalized. Prof. S K Mehta also shared the various upcoming initiatives of the Ladakh University in collaboration with foreign universities to broaden the horizons of the students.
