Gender Sensitization/Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee, University of Ladakh in collaboration with Special cell for women Leh organised an awareness program on “Gender Sensitization”. Prof. S. K. Mehta, Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor, University of Ladakh and Prof. A.K. Sharma were the Esteemed Guests of the program. The eminent speakers were Ms. Deachen Angmo and Mr. Aamir Sohali Social workers from Special cell for Women Leh. Ms. Deachen Angmo Social workers from Special cell for Women Leh, briefly described the main objectives of creating special cell for women in Leh, explained in detail about gender sensitivity and sexuality, violence and forms of violence against vulnerable sections of the society in general and women in particular. Mr. Aamir Sohali Social worker from Special cell for Women Leh, talked about sexual harassment, circumstances under which sexual harassment takes place, importance of respectful behaviour, challenging gender roles and gender discrimination. The program culminated with formal vote of thanks by Dr. Quatsi Tabassum, Asst. Prof. from Department of Forensic.
