The Department of History, University of Ladakh organised a Talk on themes “Indic roots of Indian Constitution and Deindustrialisation, Industrialisation and the Spirit of Entrepreneurship in India” at Taru Campus, University of Ladakh. Professor M. Rajivlochan, Professor, Department of History, Panjab University who is also a guest faculty at the Department of History, University of Ladakh was the key speaker. The Programme was graced by Prof. S. K. Mehta, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof. Neena Mehta, Dean Rahyat Bahra University, Prof. Tashi Ldawa, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Sameena Iqbal, Principal, EJM College, Dr. Sonam Joldan, Dean Research, Ms Yangdol, Principal Degree College Khaltse amongst others. The programme commenced with the Khataks ceremony followed by the formal welcome address by Dr. Phuntsog Angmo, Coordinator, History Department. Prof S.K. Mehta, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, welcomed the key speaker and briefed him about the university and its academic and ongoing research activities. Professor Rajivlochan spoke on “Indic roots of Indian Constitution” and stressed that Indian constitution is not a borrowed one rather one rooted in Indic wisdom. The second theme of the lecture series was on “Deindustrialisation, Industrialisation and Spirit of Entrepreneurship in India”. The talk was followed by question-and-answer session. The programme was culminated with the formal vote of thanks by Dr. Rinchen Dolma, Assistant Professor, Department of History.
