University of Ladakh Erupts in Joy on Successful Landing of Chandrayaan on Moon All the faculties, staffs and students erupted in joy on successful landing of Chandrayaan on Moon. Live streaming of the landing was arranged in both Leh and Kargil Campuses. Various whatsapp group were flooded with congratulatory messages. The University of Ladakh takes great pride in the accomplishments of the nation’s space program, lead by ISRO, with full support of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and with limited financial resources. The achievement of Chandrayaan-3 opened up the Indian space program to reach new heights. Chandrayaan-3, make India the first country to ever reach southern polar region of the moon surface in one piece — and only the fourth country ever to land on the moon. Prof. S. K. Mehta, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor University of Ladakh sent the Congratulatory messages to all the staffs of UoL on this historical event. Prof Mehta emphasised the need of enhancing the research activities in the University and contribute to nation’s scientific growth. Prof Ashok K Sharma, Registrar, UoL, Dr Riyaz M K Khan, PRO, Dr Sonam Joldan, DAA, Dr Jigmat Dachen, DSW and Dr Subrat Sharma, Dean Research and Ms Kaneez Fatima, Rector, Kargil Campus also congratulated all staffs of the University on this Historical Day.
