Report on Workshop on “IPR Essential and Technology Transfer Unveiled: Bridging the Knowledge Gap” The Mountain Research Institute University of Ladakh in collaboration with Innovation Technology Transfer Office Organized a Workshop for the faculties and students of University of Ladakh on 18th October 2023 at Taru campus. Dr. Subrat Sharma, Dean Research, University of Ladakh felicitated the guest on the occasion. Ms. Ridhima, Project Officer ITTO presented a talked on the “Basics of IPR” she elaborated the on patents, what is patented and how a technology or an invention can be patented. She also talked about the Geographical Indications (GI) and the difference between the (GI) and Patent. The audience was also involved through a pop quiz. After that Ms. Reema, Head, Innovation Transfer Technology Transfer Office (ITTO) talked about “Demystifying Technology Transfer”. She talked about the processes about the filing Intellectual Property (IP), Tech assessment and Marketing, Transfer of Technology, disclosure of technology, patentability, the agents and about trademark, patent and business facilitation, interaction, networking, route of commercialization for licensing of technology, tools for technology transfer and also about the lack of policy framework which leads to IP ownership issues and issue on revenue sharing. The nondischarge certificate, assignment and license agreement are backbone of transfer technology. Marketing strategy should be there through brochure and advertisement through social media. She also elaborated for research and health care technology processes and stages. The Do’s and Don’ts during technology transfer for researchers and scholars. She also talked about the myths related about the technology transfer. The session concluded with interaction session with the students and faculties of University of Ladakh followed by a group photo and a high tea.
