Press Release Report on One Day Industrial Visit to Mama Agro Foods. 23rd October 2023: The Department of Commerce, University of Ladakh, today organized an industrial visit to one of the popular agro-food production business units (Mama Agro, Phyang). All the students of M. Com 1st and 3rd semester participated in the visit to the industrial unit. While interacting with students, Mr. Rinchen Angchuk, the founder of Mama Agro Products, emphasized setting up more business units in the agro sector as Ladakh faces a shortage of agri products. He appraised the visiting contingents with the ever-increasing demand for agro products in Ladakh and claimed he could not meet the growing market demand. Moreover, the founder also invited students to become interns during winter vacation. The prime objective of the visit was to inculcate an entrepreneurial mindset among students and give practical exposure to them. While throwing light on the prevailing business scenario, he advised participants to avail the benefits offered by the Government. He emphasized that there is a shortage of mushrooms in the market and Ladakh has conducive climatic conditions for mushroom growing even during peak winter season. It is worth mentioning here that Mr. Angchuk was recently awarded with Jai Kisan, Jai Jawan award by the Hon’ble Lt. Governor Union Territory of Ladakh.
