Field Visit to: Basgo Fort & Monastery and Basgo Village Cabins Field visit for pragmatic learnings about tourism resources and homestay operation The Department of Travel and Tourism Management (DTTM), University of Ladakh organized a field visit for pragmatic learnings about tourism resources and homestay operation. In this regard students were taken to Basgo Fort and Monastery under the guidance of Mr. Jigmet Spaldan, Managing Director, Basgo Village Cabins. Mr. Jigmet Spaldon explained the history of Basgo Village and its tourism resources to the students. Also, students were taken to Basgo Home Stay to make them understand about homestay operations. The visit was concluded with a question answer session. The field visit was accompanied by faculty members of the department. Such field visits broaden the understanding of tourism students about co-creation of tourism industry, tourism resources, travel operation, which helps them to think and observe the tourism phenomenon closely. The Department of Travel and Tourism Management is thankful to the university administration for continuum support and facilities they provided towards the smooth execution of such productive field visits.
