The University of Ladakh, Leh Campus, celebrated Teachers' Day with great enthusiasm and warmth, acknowledging the profound impact of educators on shaping the future. The event was marked by heartfelt honors, engaging performances, and special awards, recognizing the exceptional contributions of faculty members. The occasion was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. S. K. Mehta, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Sonam Joldan, Dean Research, Dr. Subrat Sharma, and Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Jigmat Dachen. Dr. Ashu Rajput, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, delivered an overview of Teachers' Day. She emphasized the pivotal role of teachers as architects of the future, and highlighted the significance of this special day, underscoring the enduring influence of educators. The Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, in his address, extended warm wishes for Teachers' Day and commended the essential role teachers play in students' lives. Citing Henry Adams, "A teacher affects eternity; you can never tell where their influence stops," he urged students to collectively express their gratitude towards their teachers. His remarks set a tone of appreciation and respect for the educators present. Following the remarks, the celebration featured a range of engaging and cultural activities organized by university students. The lively program included performances such as Kabali, song performances, Shayari, and traditional Ladakhi dance, all contributing to the festive atmosphere. A highlight of the event was the Best Teacher Awards ceremony. Dr. Akbar Ali, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Kargil Campus, received the 1st Prize. Mr. Jigmet Stobdan, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Leh Campus, was awarded the 2nd Prize, and Dr. Mohd. Hussain, Dean Science and Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Leh Campus, secured the 3rd Prize. These awards were a testament to their dedication and exemplary service to education. In a gesture of gratitude, tokens of appreciation were presented to the esteemed teachers. Dr. Jigmat Dachen had the honor of felicitating the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, while students expressed their appreciation to the university’s teaching staff. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by President of Ladakh University Student Union, Mr. Dorjay Namgyal.
