𝐒𝐔𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐅𝐔𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐋𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐊𝐇 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒, 𝐋𝐄𝐇 𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐔𝐒 - 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 The Leh campus of the Ladakh University proudly announces the successful completion of the Ladakh Student Union Elections 2024. The elections were held on October 7, 2024 with great enthusiasm and active participation from the student body, demonstrating the democratic spirit and unity of the campus community. This year's elections witnessed a healthy voter turnout, with students from diverse backgrounds coming together to elect their representatives. The election process was conducted in a transparent, free, and fair manner under the supervision of the campus election committee, Dean Student Welfare Dr. Jigmat Dachen and chief election officer Dr. Kailash B. Goswami of Leh Campus, ensuring adherence to democratic norms and guidelines. Voting took place on October 7, with ballot boxes positioned at three different polling booths in the Leh Campus, ensuring easy access for all students. Key positions contested included: President, Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Sports Secretary, Media Secretary and Treasurer. Each candidate actively engaged with the student community through debates and presentations, addressing issues important to the campus such as academic development, cultural preservation, and infrastructure improvements. The campaign period was marked by respectful and constructive dialogue, fostering a spirit of collaboration and shared vision among the student body. The campaign period was vibrant, with candidates engaging in public debates and panel discussions. These events provided students with the opportunity to voice their concerns, ask critical questions, and better understand the visions and platforms of each candidate. The voting process was conducted with meticulous care and efficiency. Special provisions were made to ensure accessibility for all students. The entire election process, from campaigning to counting of votes, was overseen by an independent election committee comprising faculty members, and student volunteers to ensure impartiality. Election Highlights: Voter Participation: Over 80% of the student body exercised their right to vote. They also plan to work closely with the university administration on student welfare policies and initiatives. In the victory speech, Stanzin Kunsal expressed gratitude to the students for their support and pledged to address key issues affecting the student community, including academic resources, student welfare, and community engagement. The university administration extends its congratulations to and all candidates who participated, acknowledging their efforts to enhance student representation and voice within the institution. The Ladakh University administration looks forward to a fruitful term under the new leadership and encourages all students to engage actively in union activities. The LUSU and the Leh Campus administration extend their heartfelt gratitude to the election committee members, volunteers, and student coordinators, whose tireless efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the elections.
