The University of Ladakh celebrated the 76th Republic Day at its Leh Campus with enthusiasm and patriotism. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. S. K. Mehta, unfurled the National Flag near the Administrative Block, paying tribute to the freedom fighters who fought for independence and laid the foundation of the Indian Constitution. In his address, Prof. Mehta spoke about the university’s remarkable progress, including achievements in infrastructure development and advancements in research facilities. He also emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering education and excellence in the region. Upon his arrival at the campus, the Vice Chancellor was welcomed with traditional Khataks by Dr. Jigmat Dachen, Incharge Administration Leh Campus/ Dean of Students Welfare. The event featured a vibrant patriotic dance performance by the students of Government Middle School, Taru. The Vice Chancellor distributed prizes to the participating students, acknowledging their talent and contribution to the celebrations. The program concluded with a vote of thanks. Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Sonam Joldan, Incharge MRI, Dr. Jigmet Yangchan, Dr. Stanzin Mentok, Dean of Commerce, faculty and staff of the Leh Campus, along with students and staff of the Government Middle School, Taru, were present on the occasion.
