Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Ladakh, visited Leh Campus, University of Ladakh, on February 3, 2025. This marked his first visit to the campus after assuming charge as Vice-Chancellor of the university. Prof. Saket Kushwaha is a distinguished academician and administrator with extensive experience in higher education. He has previously served as the Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh, and Vice Chancellor, Lalit Narayan Mithila Univeristy Darbhanga, Bihar and has been associated with Banaras Hindu University (BHU) as a professor in Agricultural Economics. Prof. Kushwaha was accompanied by Registrar, Mr. Nawang Tundup, and Controller of Examinations, Prof. Deskyong Namgyal. On his arrival, he was warmly welcomed with a traditional Khatak by Dr. Jigmat Dachen, Incharge Administration, Leh Campus, University of Ladakh and the staff members of the Campus. During the visit, Dr. Jigmat Dachen briefed the Vice-Chancellor on the functioning of the campus through a PowerPoint presentation. Prof. Kushwaha also interacted with the faculty and staff, discussing various academic and administrative matters. He also visited key facilities of the campus, including the DST-sponsored PURSE Lab, MRI and the Central Library. Expressing his satisfaction with the available infrastructure, Prof. Kushwaha emphasized the need for continuous improvement and encouraged the staff to work diligently towards enhancing the campus facilities. Following his visit to Leh Campus, Prof. Kushwaha proceeded to Kargil to visit the Kargil Campus of the University of Ladakh.
