The final session of the Two-Week Capacity-Building Programme for faculty members took place today at the Leh Campus of the University of Ladakh. The programme was sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). The main objectives of the Programme were: • Expose Faculty to the Latest Developments: Offer in-service faculty, especially Lecturers and Assistant Professors, exposure to the latest advancements in their fields, technological innovations, and enhancement of their general methodological and writing skills. • Promote Interdisciplinary Research: Introduce scholars to research strategies across various social science disciplines, encouraging interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research. • Refine Research Skills: Develop researchers' abilities across all stages of the research process, from problem identification to reporting and publication of findings. • Integrate Technology in Research: Introduce participants to the latest technological tools and techniques, enabling them to effectively incorporate these advancements into their research and teaching. • To make the participants aware of the criteria by which research proposals are judged by funding agencies. Faculty members from diverse institutions, both within and beyond the Union Territory of Ladakh, participated in the programme. In line with ICSSR guidelines, the resource persons were drawn from institutions outside Ladakh, within the UT, as well as from the University of Ladakh. The programme was inaugurated on June 23rd at the Leh Campus. Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal (IPS), Director General of Police, UT Ladakh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh, attended as the Guest of Honour. In the concluding session, a detailed report was presented, and participants shared their experiences. Finally, the certificates were handed out to the participants, followed by a vote of thanks to the resource persons, participants, ICSSR for its funding and the organizers.
