The School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SAST), Kargil Campus, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on 15th August 2025. The event witnessed active participation from faculty members, students of B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture and B.Sc. (Hons) Horticulture, Basic Agriculture Trainees, and non-teaching staff. The program commenced with the unfurled of the Indian National Flag by Dr. Faizan Ahmed, Dean, Agriculture Sciences, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The atmosphere was filled with pride and reverence as all attendees stood to honor the nation. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Faizan Ahmed extended his heartfelt congratulations to all teaching and non-teaching staff as well as students on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day. In his inspiring speech, he emphasized the importance of patriotism and reminded the students that "the country always comes first." He encouraged everyone to contribute sincerely towards the progress and development of the nation. The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets and snacks among the participants, marking the end of the event on a joyful note.
